Unit overview: This unit aims to improve trainees' fluency in navigating online and offline information sources of resources on VAW. The approach is based on the trainer giving an explanatory background in techniques. The more in-depth exploration of resources is part of a participatory section. In this way the trainees are actively involved in the task of identifying resources, rather than just receiving information about them. This unit may also be combined with the generic MMTK
"Searching the Internet" unit.
Duration: 45 minutes
Target audience: Advocates, campaign workers, activists interested in developing their understanding of preventing Violence Against Women as a theme for advocacy work.
Prerequisite skills: Familiarity, but not expertise, with Windows and browsing the web. If this unit is not combined with the generic "Searching the Internet" unit, participants should have a basic familiarity with online search tools.
